Also the steamy scenes between Pukit and Yami and Pukit and Urvashi perk the audience up. Pukit riding a horse bare-chested in Calgary had the crowd up on its feet alright.
Pukit, Yami and Urvashi look and act their roles. Rishi Kapoor makes a cameo as a golden hearted grandfather with the ability to see far into the future and his scenes with the child actor Neel Tyagi, who plays Pulkit’s younger version, are a delight. We can’t give out the other big twist as it would spoil the climax suffice to say that it’s an overworked trope too. He then falls for rich heiress Urvashi Rautela, only to realise his heart still beats for his first love. Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam are childhood sweethearts living in picturesque Himachali backwater who separate when Pukit wants to make it big in big bad Mumbai after 12th. One of the twists is that most repeated trope – the love triangle. You also need a plot twist and a solution to that twist. Sanam Reis shot beautifully with just the right amount of snow and fog and magic mornings and sunsets… full marks to cinematographer Sameer Arya for that.
Romantic films are ideally shot in idyllic locations, with panoramic shots of beautiful vistas juxtaposed with cutie pie close-ups of good looking people mooning over each other as a love ballad blares in the background. Cast: Pulkit Samrat, Yami Gautam, Urvashi Rautela
